Learn to sail in Georgian Bay

Sail Georgian Bay will be officially running this week in Meaford Harbour. The popular sailing school is offering lessons in July and August for both adults and children. The school now has a 24-foot keelboat to be used for adult lessons.

“We’re going to do all the theory online and the practical will be done on the water with four sessions lasting three hours each,” said sailing coach Jean-loup Dalle. “It’s interesting to see how many people want to learn and go sailing. There is a lot of enthusiasm.”

The school will also continue to offer its various youth programs throughout the summer.

“I love our young instructors. They are passionate about sailing,” said Dalle.

The local area is forecasted to have a warm summer and Dalle said sailing conditions will be great.

“I’ve been sailing all my life and have been all over the world,” he said. “If you ask me, where the best cruising is – it’s right here. This is the best.”

If you've been dreaming of learning how to sail for years, there is no better time to start! Head over to their website for registration before it fills up: http://www.sailgeorgianbay.ca/
